How to Configure a Series of Episodes

Series are a special form of Horizontal List in which the Springboard (detail) screen of a selected Episode is shown before the viewer can choose to see the entire list of Episodes. There are several different ways to configure a Series and its Episodes. Below are the Instant TV Channel settings that specifically affect the way in which Series and Episodes are displayed.

Content Editor Settings for a Horizontal List or a Series List
  • ListStyle - Set to flat-episodic or flat-episodic-16x9 in order to display the progress bar beneath each episode's poster in the episode-picker screen.
Content Editor Settings for a Series Episode
  • ContentType - Select Series or Episode in order to display the TitleSeason in the episode's Springboard (detail) screen description.
  • TitleSeason - Appears where the Title normally would be in the Springboard (detail) screen.
  • PosterStyle - Usually multiple-portrait-generic. Has no effect other than the poster frame style.
  • Length - Content length in hours, minutes, and seconds. If this is missing or incorrect, the list poster progress bar will not function correctly and the player's "resume playing" button may be needlessly displayed.
  • Episode Number - If present, the Epidode Number will be displayed instead of the poster in non-focused (smaller left or right-side) poster frames on the episode-picker screen.
Content Editor Settings for an MRSS Feed Series
  • The MRSS Feed must be located either completely outside of any Grid, or inside of a Grid Row.
  • If the MRSS Feed is located completely outside of any Grid, set DisplayAsSeries to True.
  • ContentType - Select Series or Episode in order to display the TitleSeason in the episode's Springboard (detail) screen description.
  • ListStyle - Set to flat-episodic or flat-episodic-16x9 in order to display the progress bar beneath each episode's poster in the episode-picker screen.
